Military Outreach Trips
Between 2007 and 2011, the Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation traveled the country with its team of retired military officers – each with decades of experience in the armed forces, government, and academia – and other staff and experts as part of its nationwide public education and outreach program.
The Center worked to educate the American public and opinion leaders on national security issues. This includes raising awareness about preventing the spread of nuclear weapons, preparing for the threat of nuclear terrorism, and overcoming the foreign policy and security challenges we face in the 21st century.
The objective was to share crucial knowledge and empower a new generation of leaders, decision-makers, educators, media, and citizens to promote vigorous debate and develop sensible national security policies for the future.
