Lt. General Robert Gard's talk on nuclear terrorism

On April 8, 2011, Lt. General Robert Gard of the Center for Arms Control and Non Proliferaiton, spoke at the University of Virginia Miller Center of Public Affairs for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. Gard's discussion centered around nuclear terrorism in the 21st century. Highlighting what is being done to prevent nuclear terrorism but also looking into what needs to be done to combat the threat of terrorism.

"The international panel of Fissile Materials recently estimated that last year, 2010, there were about 1,475 metric tons of Highly Enriched Uranium (HEU) in the global stockpile. Enough for about 60,000 weapons," stated Gard.
