ABOUT

The Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation travels the country with its team of retired military officers – each with decades of experience in the armed forces, government, and academia – and other staff and experts as part of its nationwide public education and outreach program.

The Center is dedicated to educating the American public and opinion leaders on national security issues. This includes raising awareness about preventing the spread of nuclear weapons, preparing for the threat of nuclear terrorism, and overcoming the foreign policy and security challenges we face in the 21st century.

Our objective is to share crucial knowledge and empower a new generation of leaders, decision-makers, educators, media, and citizens to promote vigorous debate and develop sensible national security policies for the future.

Since the Center began its program in 2007, it has addressed or is scheduled to address issues in U.S. nuclear weapons and foreign policy to audiences in:

  • Phoenix, Arizona
  • San Diego, California
  • Denver, Colorado
  • Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton, Florida
  • South Bend, Indiana
  • Des Moines and Iowa City, Iowa
  • Louisville and Lexington, Kentucky
  • Portland, Brunswick, Lewiston, Bangor, Orono, and Waterville, Maine
  • Kansas City and Parkeville, Missouri
  • Las Vegas, Nevada
  • Plymouth, New Hampshire
  • Albuquerque and Santa Fe, New Mexico
  • Greensboro and Greenville, North Carolina
  • Columbus and Cincinnati, Ohio
  • Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
  • Columbia and Charleston, South Carolina
  • Cookeville and Knoxville,Tennessee

The Center frequently collaborates with outreach programs at other non-profit organizations to bring a diverse range of speakers and backgrounds to host communities. These organizations have included Physicians for Social Responsibility and the National Security Network.
