Monica Montgomery is a Policy Analyst for the Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation, where her work focuses educating Congress and the public on U.S. nuclear modernization and spending, arms control, non-proliferation, the Pentagon budget, and other national security policies and legislation. Her writing and commentary have appeared in the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, Vanity Fair, Forbes, Defense One, Arms Control Today, MSNBC, and other outlets.
Prior to joining the Center in 2020, Monica worked as the Program Assistant for Nuclear Disarmament and Pentagon Spending at the Friends Committee on National Legislation. She has also previously worked as a research and office assistant at the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies and as an intern at the Arms Control Association and in the district office of former Senator Bob Corker.
Monica graduated cum laude from the University of Notre Dame with a B.A. in political science and peace studies and a certificate in international security studies.
