Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation Senior Science Fellow John Gilbert was interviewed on the Ryan Jespersen radio show to discuss the rising tensions on the Korean Peninsula, North Korea’s nuclear capabilities, the U.S. response to the North’s belligerent behavior, what can be done to reduce tensions, China’s role in resolving the issue and the impact of the roll out of Thermal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) has had in the region. Gilbert was also asked about the increase in tourism to Chernobyl. He recommended canceling vacation plans to visit Pripyat.
