Sarah Kirchner-Barney is an intern at the Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation. Her research interests focus on Northeast Asian regional security, including North Korean and Chinese proliferation, US-DPRK relations, US-ROK alliance relations, US-ROK-Japan trilateral cooperation, and extended deterrence. Prior to joining the Center, Sarah was a Program Assistant Intern at the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation supporting the Mansfield Fellowship and the Next Generation of U.S.-Japan Nuclear Policy Experts Programs. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies and Political Science from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Security Policy Studies at George Washington University.
