When it comes to longer-term change, the Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation’s Tierney believes the field has made significant inroads and that any analysis of the field should take this incremental progress into account. “Since the Reagan administration,” he said, “there have been a number of arms control agreements and other treaties that have reduced the number of nuclear weapons from over 70,000 to less than 15,000.” Read more
