Commenting on [Obama’s plans to modernize the U.S. nuclear weapons arsenal,] Angela Canterbury, executive director for the Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation, declared: “The current plan is geared towards building more nuclear weapons that we don’t need and can’t afford. We need to scrap it and the nuclear weapons we don’t need. We need to put into place a far more affordable plan to meet the President’s goals to make us safer.”
