The 700kg of highly enriched uranium (HEU) that was removed from the United Kingdom has been placed at the Y-12 complex, near Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee. The NNSA explained the material will be down-blended to low-enriched uranium (LEU) to be used in research and energy nuclear reactors.
