North Korea Fires Two Short-Range Missiles off Its East Coast; Test coincides with a visit to Seoul by national security adviser John Bolton

Program Coordinator Abigail Stowe-Thurston spoke with The Wall Street Journal about North Korea firing off short-range missiles.

The North’s latest missile launch likely sends the message that the U.S. may be running out of time to offer North Korea some kind of concession, said Abigail Stowe-Thurston, program coordinator for the Washington-based Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation.

“An ‘all-for-all’ deal is not what’s on the table, so the United States needs to show some flexibility in its negotiating position,” said Ms. Stowe-Thurston. “I expect we may continue to see provocations like this until that happens.” Read more
