On the evening of November 18th, the arms control community came together to recognize members of Congress who have demonstrated superior support for common sense nuclear weapons policies.
On behalf of the Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation and Council for a Livable World, executive director Angela Canterbury presented a congressional award to Representative Jeff Fortenberry (NE-1) for being an ally on Capitol Hill in support of sensible nuclear weapons policies.
In Congress, Fortenberry is the co-founder and chair of the Nuclear Security Working Group, which is charged with preventing the spread of nuclear weapons around the world.
Other award recipients included Rep. Earl Blumenauer, Rep. Mike Quigley, and Sen. Dianne Feinstein.
