Scientist Working Group on Biological and Chemical Security member Gregory Koblentz, the Director of the Biodefense Graduate Program at George Mason University, was quoted in a Reuters’ piece on the need for more oversight on federal laboratories that carry out biomedical research:
“Organizations are notoriously bad at policing themselves,” said biodefense expert Greg Koblentz of George Mason University. Ideally, an advisory body should not depend on or report to the organization it is overseeing, he said.
