Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation Senior Science Fellow Philip E. Coyle joined KPCC’s Larry Mantle, host of AirTalk on 89.3 KPCC – Southern California Public Radio to discuss the recent Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) test result and the entire GMD program. Coyle reiterated while the test was a success, GMD’s testing record remains a dismal 40 percent despite being highly scripted for success. Based on its testing record, GMD cannot be relied upon to protect the United States from a North Korean long-range missile.
