“You don’t make pronouncements about nuclear policy or nuclear doctrine over Twitter,” said Jim Walsh, a professor at the MIT security studies program and contributor at the Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation.
“When you do that, you’re likely to upset your allies, particularly European allies, and you get your adversaries thinking. And it has the possibility of undermining the nonproliferation regime.”
