Our friends at the Truman National Security Project just released an online Iran war simulation that puts you in the Oval Office and guides you step-by-step through the process of launching military strikes against Iran. As “President,” you receive briefings from different members of your team, make decisions about what to do at various points in the process, and watch as the consequences unfold. The folks at Truman did a great job researching those consequences and, needless to say, the outcome isn’t pretty.
The simulation is called “Tell Me How This Ends,” an allusion to Gen. David Petraeus’ 2003 statement about America’s unclear objectives for post-invasion Iraq. A TV ad associated with the project will be aired during the presidential debate on Monday, October 22nd.
I’ve played twice so far today. I highly recommend taking a look – you can play at www.tellmehowthisends.com.
