Make Love, Not War

Diplomatic and Military Leaders Examine Opportunities, Challenges for a Negotiated Solution to Iran’s Nuclear Program as P5+1-Iran Talks Prepare to Resume

Washington DC – February 13, 2014– Press Advisory – The Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation will host a press call in advance of the next round of P5+1 talks with Iran concerning Iran’s nuclear program.

WHEN: Friday, February 14th, 2014 at 10:30AM EST.

WHO: Ambassador Peter Galbraith has been heavily involved in peace negotiations and conflict resolution for more than two decades. He is a former U.S. Ambassador to Croatia (1993-1998), senior advisor to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on the Near East and South Asia and international organization and has held senior positions within the United Nations. He is the author of several books, including The End of Iraq.

Lt. General Robert Gard, PhD (ret. U.S. Army) is the former president of National Defense University and the current Chairman of the Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation. He is a globally-recognized expert on a range of national security topics including military policy and Iran. In his 31 year military career, Gen. Gard saw combat in the Korean and Vietnam Wars, served as Executive Assistant to two Secretaries of Defense and Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs.

Laicie Heeley, the Director of Middle East and Defense Policy at the Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation will moderate the call.
