Reciprocate U.S. calls for dialogue, ambassador to UN urges North Korea

Senior Policy Director Alexandra Bell was quoted in North Korea News amid a diplomatic stalemate ahead of North Korea’s impending deadline before a year-end “Christmas gift” to the United States.

“For North Korea, ‘economic development’ and integration ‘into the international community’ are not nearly as important as security guarantees for the regime,” Alexandra Bell, the Senior Policy Director at the Center for Arms Control & Non-Proliferation in Washington, said.

“Until the Trump administration is ready to put those on the table, the situation will continue to deteriorate,” she said. Read more
