Action on Amendments to Fiscal Year 2013 National Defense Authorization Bill
The House began consideration of the FY 2013 National Defense Authorization Act (H.R. 4310) yesterday and plans to complete action on amendments and hold a final vote on the bill this afternoon. Below is a summary of the key amendments debated (and not ruled in order by the Rules Committee) on nuclear weapons and missile defense. Don’t Bring Back CMRR
House Strategic Forces Subcommittee Chairman Rep. Michael Turner wants to force the United States to invest in a multi-billion dollar nuclear weapons research facility that it does not need, the $6+ billion Chemistry and Metallurgy Research Replacement Nuclear Facility (CMRR-NF) at Los Alamos National Laboratory.

HASC Subcommittees Begin Releasing Marks
On April 25 the seven Subcommittees of the House Armed Services Committee (HASC) began releasing their marks in preparation for the full HASC mark up of the defense bill on May 9. Among the marks released today was the Strategic Forces Subcommittee mark. The Subcommittee is scheduled to take up the mark on April 26.
