Expert: Russians are trying to hide the technical details of the rocket propulsion system

Policy Analyst Geoff Wilson spoke with Voice of America about an explosion in Russia.

Wilson of The Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation pointed to a strange set of circumstances when the stations stopped working after the explosion in Severodvinsk.

“This coincided with this accident, which, in our opinion, is an explosion of a Russian cruise nuclear missile. I think that Russians are trying to hide the technical details of the propulsion system of this rocket. Similar opinions have already sounded. However, it is important to note that shutting down these stations is not illegal, since Moscow does not violate its contractual obligations, since the contract has not yet entered into force. And the reason for this is that, among seven other countries, the United States has not ratified this treaty,” said Wilson.
