Yesterday the National Iranian American Council sponsored a full page ad in the Washington Post from several former high-ranking military, intelligence and State Department officials that urges President Obama to say no to war with Iran. The backdrop of course is that Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is currently in the U.S. for meetings with officials and the American Israeli Public Affairs Council (AIPAC) annual meeting.
Among the signatories were Center Chairman Lt. Gen. Robert Gard (USA, Ret.) and Council for a Livable World board members, General Joe Hoar and Brigadier General John Johns.
Here’s an excerpt from the ad:
Military action at this stage is not only unnecessary, it is dangerous – for the United States and for Israel. We urge you to resit the pressure for a war of choice with Iran.
