Staff Profile: Meet Rowan Humphries, Communications Assistant

HOW LONG HAVE YOU WORKED AT THE CENTER AND COUNCIL?

Since May 2019

WHAT IS THE BEST PART OF YOUR JOB?

Getting to explore my artistic side through creating graphic content for our social media platforms and website.

WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO WORK IN NUCLEAR NON-PROLIFERATION?

Throughout my college years, I became aware of how few young people outside the national security field truly understood the immediacy of the nuclear threat. I want to be part of the movement to raise awareness and reignite a wave of activism on these issues.

WHAT IS YOUR HOMETOWN?

Rochester, New York

WHAT COLLEGE DID YOU ATTEND AND WHAT DID YOU STUDY?

Dickinson College ’19, graduated with a BA in International Studies and Political Science.

HOW DO YOU LIKE TO SPEND YOUR TIME AWAY FROM WORK?

You can find me doing a crossword puzzle, hitting DC trivia nights with my friends, or running in Rock Creek Park.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PLACE TO GO OR WHAT IS YOUR DREAM TRAVEL DESTINATION?

I’d love to go to Iceland to see the Northern Lights.

IF YOU COULD HAVE DINNER WITH ONE PERSON, LIVING OR DEAD, WHO WOULD IT BE AND WHY?

I’d love to grab a drink with Madeleine Albright. As the first female Secretary of State, I think I’d have a lot to learn from her about what it takes to be a female leader in today’s world.

You can learn more about Rowan in her bio.
