Senior Policy Director John Erath spoke with Hearst TV about U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear sites and Congress’s sole authority to declare war.
Experts said if the U.S. planned to take that action, it should have gone through Congress first.
John Erath, senior policy director at the Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation, said, “To be at war requires an act of Congress, and that’s kind of the problem. Congress was not consulted, which makes the action sort of illegal.”
